NBA star Ja Morant's friend jailed for assault at home.

Ja Morant's longtime pal was arrested on Wednesday for misdemeanor assault on a minor at his Memphis Grizzlies house, prompting a civil lawsuit.

Morant is accused of hitting 17-year-old Joshua Holloway during a pickup game at the NBA player's suburban Memphis house on July 26, 2022. Davonte Pack will be arraigned on Thursday morning.

ESPN got Pack's arrest warrant from the Shelby County Sheriff's Office last week, which indicated that Morant's companion admitted to assaulting Holloway during the brawl in a May 2023 civil suit deposition.

The warrant also stated that Holloway suffered a hematoma to the scalp, sore jaw, and migraines in the location where Pack struck him.

"Simple Assault in relation to the July 2022 altercation involving Mr. Pack, Memphis Grizzlies basketball player Ja Morant, and a juvenile basketball player at Mr. Morant's residence in Eads," the Shelby County District Attorney's Office told ESPN.

Holloway only called Pack by a nickname, and Morant didn't tell authorities Pack's name.

According to court documents obtained by ESPN, authorities were given information identifying him and subsequently received his deposition evidence where he acknowledged to punching Halloway.

Morant was not charged for the incident. Morant's off-court issues have involved Pack. Pack was banned from Grizzlies home games after he was pulled from his courtside position during a game against the Indiana Pacers for "verbal sparring" with players.
