Could Mike Vrabel be the Commanders' next head coach?

Now that Adam Peters has taken over as general manager of the Washington Commanders, the search for a new head coach is next on the agenda.

Washington asked permission to talk with seven assistant coaches from other clubs, all of whom were on NFL playoff teams.

Last week, Washington interviewed two Ravens assistants: Mike MacDonald, defensive coordinator, and Anthony Weaver, associate head coach and defensive line coach

The Commanders asked permission to interview these potential instructors early last week, and some fascinating developments transpired later in the week.

The Patriots and iconic coach Bill Belichick have parted ways. The Titans also sacked head coach Mike Vrabel.

While others sought to link Belichick to the Commanders, this is not happening. So what about Vrabel?Could Peters broaden his search now that he is officially a member of the organization? Could Vrabel be a candidate.

In his most recent Sports Illustrated mailbag, Albert Breer mentioned Vrabel when asked who he thought would be the Commanders' next head coach.

Since new GM Adam Peters has only recently arrived, I'd say the field is wide open. There is also no obvious natural fit based on his background—perhaps Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik is the easiest tie to make.
